    Same as Turkey’s treatment of the Kurdish people, Israel’s treatment of Arab/Muslim people, and any other similar discrimination or oppression worldwide.

    I think it’s really not that different than the treatment the Palestinians get from Israel. Funny how the Western world sees one as a travesty and the other is ignored.

    Tibet has a bloody history that is of their own doing, with a feudal system that oppressed a large majority of the people. The only people whose situation worsened under Chinese rule were the aristocrats, including the Lamas, who had huge control before they were ousted. For instance, secular education was forbidden by the Buddhist aristocracy. We have been fed one sided propaganda by the US State Department and others who have an interest in discrediting China. I’m not defending the many human rights atrocities of the Chinese government, I’m simply saying this issue is not as black and white as people want to make it.
