Tibet: The Truth (A Political History)

Posted on May 17th, 2010 by admin

The West is trying to demonize China. Why? To ensure an upper-handed position economically, politically, and socially.

Too many harbor strong opinions about Tibet, yet know nothing more than the few slogans offered by the mass-media outlets.

The media screams:
“They killed innocent monks!” – but those “innocent” monks and other young hooligans killed innocent Chinese before a single shot was fired on them.
“The Chinese are oppressive” – do you consider freeing over 95% of Tibetans from slavery, building a state of the art infrastructure, and a new economy oppressive?
“The Chinese suppress Tibetan Buddhism” – then why have the Chinese spent a fortune restoring ancient monasteries and places of religious significance?

China doesn’t SPIN NEWS like we do. Their silence is too often mistaken as admission of guilt. Don’t be another uninformed drone. Do everyone a favor and learn truths before forming opinions.

Here’s to Peace & Harmony! The 2008 Beijing Olympics deserve support!

    If Tibet was independent before 1950, why do we see Tibetan currency in both Hanzi and Tibetan?

    “Sino-Tibetan half tangka coin, dated year 58 of Qian Long era. Obverse”
    “right|Half skar copper coin of the Xuan Tong era (AD 1910), obverse”

    Liar,? liar. lol.

  4. spitfirez89 Says:

    @lamdawave cherry …
    @lamdawave cherry picking? the evidence cant be more clear which validates Tibet as being Independent country. and you cant hide that fact. The invasion in 1950-1951 will not be forgotten. That was the year’s in which china INVADED Tibet and now occupy their lands. CHINA GET OUT OF TIBET

    @lamdawave 70% …
    @lamdawave 70% suffers from it huh…..and where did you get that number from?…..

  6. lamdawave Says:

    @radiolaugh Please …
    @radiolaugh Please take a look at the aftermaths of the caste system in India. Today some 70% of the rural p[opulation in India still suffers from caste system.
    The Indian govt. tries very hard to abolish it but fails.
    I remember some students (presumably from the upper class) in medical schools protested against the India govt. because the latter tried to admit more students from the lower caste(s)

  7. lamdawave Says:

    @spitfirez89 So you …
    @spitfirez89 So you are “cherry picking” only those “evidences” that supports your case, and totally ignore any International agreements? E.g 1945 Yalta Conference doen’t count because its Tibet, Quebec is different because its Tibet, Northen Ireland does’nt count because its Tibet…….

  8. SauIan Says:

    From Spitfire:

    From Spitfire:

    Tibet had its own:
    government, currency, language, culture and even had tibetan passports validating that Tibet was an independent country from China. People are now forgetting the Invasion that happened in the first place. True that tibet was not great but now thousands of tibetans flee THIER OWN HOMELAND because of ccp rule. you think its better now? CCP cant fool everybody. CHINA GET OUT OF TIBET

  9. SauIan Says:

    @deriv108 Oops my …
    @deriv108 Oops my apology. I didn’t read your previous comments carefully. Its good to pursue higher education like what you are doing now. Once I told a Tibetan about China building roads,hospitals & schools in Tibet circa 1950’s, he said Tibetans didn’t need roads as they had horses! while he was saying that I fell off from my mental horse!
    Same goes for schools- One pro-DL person feels all Tibetans need is what Tibetan monastries teach (mainly Tibetan Buddhism.)

  16. deriv108 Says:

    You are right. Some …
    You are right. Some tibetans may be pushed to independence eventually if the no talk between tibetans and Han chinese. It’s one family but the differences do exist. Mutual understandings will help. There should be a solution without independence….

  17. deriv108 Says:

    @lamdawave There …
    @lamdawave There may be some misunderstandings. I only exclude those separatists, :)

    Most of tibetans including oversea tibetans are not supporting separation, I believe. Many oversea tibetans moved to foreign countries just like us, taking toefl, gre and etc.

    Some oversea tibetans went to India, got refugee cert and they love Tibet and also China. Yangjin Lamu (????) is a very successful example.

  18. lamdawave Says:

    @deriv108 No I …
    @deriv108 No I disagree. They are still a part or China. China needs to address dissenting views & needs of overseas Tibetans. Its just that DL is still leading his separatist movement or neither side trusts the other, so no amicable solution could be reached quickily.
    China is now engaged a nation building at an unprecedented pace. When the time is right, This problem will be solved.

  19. lamdawave Says:

    @jack999rocks the …
    @jack999rocks the 1945 Yalta Conference already recognised China’s sovreinty over Tibet.
    And What is wrong living with other enthnic groups?
    In my country, 6 mil. Chinese, Malays,Indians ,Eurasians live peacefully in a very small space (only 250 square km).
    Even in your country India many different ethnic groups with diffrent languages/writings/cultures live in one country.

  20. jack999rocks Says:

    will TIBET will be …
    will TIBET will be a freedom country..:! Even the United Nations and the world power’s do not say any thing about it…? I wonder what the majority of Local Tibetans think of living with Chinese.

  21. lamdawave Says:

    The paragraph in …
    The paragraph in Wikipedia talking about VI Dalai Lama is:
    “Tsangyang Gyatso, the Sixth Dalai Lama, was not enthroned until 1697. Tsangyang Gyatso enjoyed a lifestyle that included drinking,? the company of women, and writing love songs….”
    My point is if reincarnation is true then DL IV is also a womaniser?

  22. spitfirez89 Says:

    @lamdawave go to …
    @lamdawave go to google and type in Tibetan currency or tibetan passport then you will see both. as for language and culture, whats true in Canada does not mean its true everywhere around the world. Tibetan text is COMPLETELY different from the chinese one same goes for our culture as well. Thus proving that Tibet was never chinese to begin with.

  23. lamdawave Says:

    @spitfirez89 OK you …
    @spitfirez89 OK you tell me:
    (i)when u printed your own currency,(ii) when you issued your passport and which countries in the world recognised it,(ii) When u issued your own stamps & what it said. As for language, culture, Even Canada has Quebec which is French dominated, & Nortern Ireland mainly Irish/Scotts.

  24. spitfirez89 Says:

    @lamdawave Firstly …
    @lamdawave Firstly the US dont care but what can the US do to CHina? CHina is such a large country now that they bully anybody and take lands from everywhere. not only TIbet but Burma, Taiwan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan and much more. And seeing that you cant counter my points proves that Tibet was an INDEPENDENT country. Tibet were never a part of china.

  25. lamdawave Says:

    @spitfirez89 If you …
    @spitfirez89 If you are abosolute sure about this, why don’t you petition to USA to have them amend this part of the history?
