I completely agree with Minsu. What massacre? There was none! What suffering? The people of Tibet are perfectly fine!! Probably more so than if the Chinese Government had not interferred and the people of Tibet were still under the slave rule of the Buddhist Monks (they were originally the ruling class of tibet and under them slavery of commoners was widespread). Now I have not lived in china — never been "brainwashed", except for attempts made by westeners who try to get me to believe that a huge wrong is being done to tibet — I have been, and I have seen NOTHING that supports that. Most of china’s water resources flow from that area, and if tibet was separated, the whole population of china would suffer — BILLIONS of people. Is that even right from the "oh, Im so concerned for people’s suffering" point of view? And the Dalai Lama. He said himself that Mao treated him like a loved son, and only "fled" china because americans had arranged it. Also, he had been planning a huge protest just after the sichuan earthquake which had killed thousands of people — can you think of moe inhumane timing? Personally i hope obama would never meet with him. Here comes a president that everyone hopes will be so different to the rest, and he turns out just as bad.

Obama will have his first tour to china on November, meet with dalai lama will affect the relationship between chinese government and US government. And why westerners believe all tibetans are fucked by chinese government. we live in china can travel to tibet so easy, more than half of my friends have been to tibet, now I have a question, why we guys who have been to tibet do not know the history and situation of tibet and brainwashed well by chinese government, and you westerners have never been to tibet know tibet much more than us? US is not the whole world, guys.

Not so much repudiating them as putting them aside for the time being as, after all, China is a much bigger fish and for some reason (that escapes me) we seem to have to keep them happy. As to human rights issues, well if he doesn't care about the oppressed Tibetans, then he won't care much about child labour in China producing cheap items for US consumers will he?
