China in the 2012 movie?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin

Clearly, the monastery, monk costumes shown and the area shown as where the arks were being built were all Tibetan. (Although not all the actors playing Tibetans were ethnic Tibetans). Yet, the map shown in the movie, and all mentions of the area or the people only speak of China and the Chinese. Why? Was this some sort of political correctness requirement or pressure or anything to attract the Chinese market or a cave-in of some sort? The movie may not need to make political statements about whether or not Tibet is part of China and that is a different thing. But Tibet does have its own distinct culture and could have been referenced as such, just as there are examples like Scotland which is part of the UK, but has many elements of its own culture. Was there a particular reason for this silence about Tibet?
Nope don’t think so. At a $200m budget + marketing costs, and the way much of Hollywood including this director are liberal, ergo "free Tibet"… it can’t have been without reason to not even identify Tibet even culturally.

The actors were all chinese, the Tibetan language was poor and basic and not that of a native tibetan and some of the rituals performed and objects used were not true to the tradition of Tibetan buddhist. Also the clothing of the Tibetans did not truely replicate the culture of the people.

The reason why I know this is that I am an english teacher in the UK, my students all come from other countries to learn english as a second language some as refugees. I took my students to see this movie, one happened to be a Tibetan Monk from India who was born in Tibet and fled to find exile in India over 10 years ago from the chinese repression.

He was really excited about going to see this movie and the fact that it showed people his rare culture to the world, he was extremely dissappointed that it gave far from a true reflection from this.

Just another piece of propaganda to appease the People Repbulic of china. Yes Tibet does have its unique culture and should have been shown justly so……..but it’s been slowly exterminated by the PRC…. 2012 was a prime example

Tibetans are tibetans …….. I could go on but I wont

How low and despicable can it go for distorting the truth on China (Tibet) ?

Posted on May 28th, 2010 by admin

Amid the Image Wars against China, one photo appeared, showing those monks in Lhasa 3.14 riot are not “monks”, rather, they are the “Chinese soldiers” (link below).

It turns out it is an old photo taken in 2003, showing that Chinese soldiers were role casting Tibetan monks in a movie object. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=8673

Yes it is depicable.
It is despicable that the great chinese people are being ruled by a bunch of communists who are controlling them at will.

It is despicable that chinese people have been brainwashed to a level that they do not know the difference between a lie and a truth.

It is despicable that communists have tried to control everything that a chinese does, what he reads, what he believes.

It is sad that chinese people have been turned into paranoid believing that the whole world is their enemy, and everyone is lying except the communist propoganda machine.

Is there anywhere in Britain I can purchase a ‘Mongol/Tibetan’ style of Mens hat?

Posted on May 26th, 2010 by admin

The best I can describe them is that they tend to have gold coloured thread woven into the main colour (of which there are many) some hats have ‘points’ sticking out of them at the sides, in the Bar scene of one of the Indiana Jones Movies the locals are wearing them.

Why is it some Tibetan men wear a gold or silver earring in the left ear? Or rather one long, one small?

Posted on May 22nd, 2010 by admin

I recently watched the movies Seven Years In Tibet and Kundun; both display the same custom of some Men wearing one small earring and one long earring. It’s something I’ve done for years as well and I was hoping to know why/how this custom came to be.

It just their custom….

Tibet: The Truth (A Political History)

Posted on May 17th, 2010 by admin

The West is trying to demonize China. Why? To ensure an upper-handed position economically, politically, and socially.

I HAVE MADE THIS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/icmeed

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D0NFT4QI

Too many harbor strong opinions about Tibet, yet know nothing more than the few slogans offered by the mass-media outlets.

The media screams:
“They killed innocent monks!” – but those “innocent” monks and other young hooligans killed innocent Chinese before a single shot was fired on them.
“The Chinese are oppressive” – do you consider freeing over 95% of Tibetans from slavery, building a state of the art infrastructure, and a new economy oppressive?
“The Chinese suppress Tibetan Buddhism” – then why have the Chinese spent a fortune restoring ancient monasteries and places of religious significance?

China doesn’t SPIN NEWS like we do. Their silence is too often mistaken as admission of guilt. Don’t be another uninformed drone. Do everyone a favor and learn truths before forming opinions.

Here’s to Peace & Harmony! The 2008 Beijing Olympics deserve support!

Why has the Tibetan book of the dead not been made into a movie? Tom Cruise and Meg Ryan would be perfect .?

Posted on May 16th, 2010 by admin
