    @mapscraper There’s really no such thing as “eternal peace”, I hope you know. In all honesty, even without religion, the world will still be fighting over power. Really, it makes me wonder if one day, some crazy power-hungry guy will rule a nation…with nuclear weapons.

    @ …
    @MathematiclObjection , sorry, i had to make some correction: it should be “today’s jesus followers or christians’ way, not jesus’ way.

    but u can imagine a world without christianity and islam, it would be in eternal peace.

    @mapscraper That’s …
    @mapscraper That’s funny, because I don’t remember Jesus taking any money from anyone, or selling anything for that matter. In fact, wasn’t Jesus the same person who got so angry because people were selling stuff in the temple?

    @graceteam, thx for ur precise explanation.
    but if see clearly enogh, jesus’s way is like a business – always looking for ppl when they are in bad luck as target of preaching or invasion ( the same way as those loaning company targeting gamblers) – and this is why christianity spread world wide – all is about a businness.

  5. graceteam Says:

    @mapscraper the …
    @mapscraper the buddha taught that to get rid of evil and suffering you must completely detach yourself from all the desires of your heart… Jesus told an outcast woman, come to me, and I will give you rest, lay your burdens on me..and you will find rest… Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good, He came to make dead people live. Jesus changes the desires of your heart.:)

    by common sense (unless u have not), buddhism is much more superior than christianity.

    You couldn’t even call Buddhism a religion, but rather a philosophy and a form of psychotherapy.

    buddhism isn’t …
    buddhism isn’t really about redemption… it seems to me, more about acting the right way… the FIRST time..

    The guy doing this interview doesn’t understand anything about eastern religions… unlike these monotheistic religions here in the west, the concept of ONE religion is completely foreign to people who practice shinto, jainism or buddhism.. or the countless others.

    I think the reporter was making the mistake of thinking that all Buddhists believe in a creator god that hates us.

    Once again, …
    Once again, everyone is on their own journey, is at a different place with their journey, and can have a different opinion. I personally take my learning and understanding from the Dalai Lama himself, as well as the foremost practioners of Buddhism. Thank you.

  20. pierresplace Says:

    As the amount of …
    As the amount of good karma increases, one moves closer toward Nirvana, the place where the cycle of re-birth and death is no more. This may take many, many life times. The discussion in the video I feel, is very far apart from the principles of Buddhism, however much it attempted understanding in those few moments.

  21. pierresplace Says:

    In my understanding …
    In my understanding, and from my study, Buddhism is about enlightenment and is not a religion. The Buddha was not a god, he was a man, he said. We all have Buddha within us. Now, with the seeking of redemption, with Buddhism, that may form a non-meritorious deed, causing bad karma. With good deeds, or meritorious deeds, one accumulates good karma.

    If Tiger Woods …
    If Tiger Woods wants forgiveness he needs to become a Christian. Simply because the people he needs forgiveness from are Christians and they’d never forgive a Buddhist. Buddhists are not angry with him so clearly feel no need to forgive him. So Humme was right.

    @jigglyfidda125

    No one real religion is a real religion. If christianity was the one true religion, it would be a non-profit organization, which it claims to be, but in fact its not. If it were, they would pay everyone in the congregation not just the priests. An example of them not being a non-profit is the priest molestation trials, where did the get all the money from huh? Buddhist are no profit, they have nothing. where is jesus and mary’s gospel in the bible?

    @impermanentoo Could you please explain the changing state of mind when we achieve Enlightenment? You may use models.
